Good Friday, Good Food and Good Times

The sun decided to grace us with her presence on Friday and we took full advantage of it and spent the day with close friends at Teak Place in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind. It really was a fantastic way to spend Good Friday and celebrate the beginning of a long weekend. We sat in the warm sun soaking up the last of the warm Autumn rays, drinking good South African wine and watching the kids do what they do best ~ play and get dirty.

The menu had a lot of tantalizing dishes to offer and after much deliberation I decided to go with the prawn and kingklip skewers that dripped chilli, lime and coriander. It was simply delectable!

Donovan decided to try out their pulled pork burger which he said didn’t disappoint either.

Their are loads of other things to do like pick their organically grown vegetables which we didn’t get too but it’s on our list for next time especially if we go again in Winter….it will be a good excuse to make a hearty home-made soup from veggies we’ve handpicked.

There is also a swimming pool, jumping castles, trampolines, a petting park and best of all a BMX track that kept the older two busy for the best part of the afternoon. We were informed by Shea and Ethan it was the best fun they’ve had. I think we may have just found one of our new favourite spots in Joburg.

On the trip home we were one extra. Her name is Celeste, she is cuddly, she bounces and her favourite food is carrots. Yes folks Ethan is now a proud owner of a rabbit….our own real life Easter Bunny.

It was a good day. It’s another memory made that we can safely tuck away and treasure.
