My baby turned four this weekend.  It’s always bittersweet watching your youngest grow up.  I so often still refer to her as my baby girl, but mind you she really doesn’t have any baby left because this year she has said good-bye to her dummy, her bottle and her night time nappy. It’s been a big year for growing up.

In celebration we threw her a little party.  We decided to keep it really small this year and just invited immediate family, my god children and a close friend.  Zoe had a ball nevertheless and I think it didn’t really matter how many people came in the end because what matters to a 4 year old girl are Dora cupcakes, pink balloons and ice-cream.

I planned little games like egg and spoon races, pass the parcel and musical statues.  We had some happy winners and then we had some tears and tantrums, from those who didn’t win.

And when the games fizzled out the kids swam, played Sylvanian families, swam, blew out candles, swam, ate cake, swam and sucked lollies.  Thank heavens for hot days and blue skies.

I hope you had the best day Zoe.

Because you’ve given us the best 4 years of your life so far.  I’m so happy to be your mommy.
